GayWest Café

Every Saturday
The GayWest Café is open to all, so come and join us. First time visitors are made very welcome.

This is GayWest’s most popular event and is open every Saturday from 10.30am – 12.30pm at St Michael’s day centre, St Michael’s Place, Bath. BA1 1SG (next to the Little Theatre Cinema). Various coffees, teas, cakes and cold drinks are available. We will be open over the Christmas/New Year period.

A great place to start your weekend.


GayWest Woodpecker Walk

Sunday 17th May 2026
Come for a gentle walk around the local suburbs and follow the River Chew in Keynsham. Some uneven ground and gentle inclines. Good footwear recommended. Refreshments provided after the walk.
Meet at 30 Woodpecker Close, Keynsham, BS31 2FU at 11.00 am.

GayWest Monthly Socials

We are going to try something different this month. Note that our social will be during the day at the Boathouse Pub, Newbridge meeting at 12.00 noon to avoid the lunchtime crowd – hopefully!!! We look forward to this visit and hope you come along.

GayWest River Boat Trip

Thursday 27th May 2026
We are proposing a river boat trip from Pulteney Bridge to Bathampton and back. We will sail at 12.00 noon. Afterwards we will have a bite to eat in the large cafe on Pulteney Bridge.

“High Noon” in Keynsham

Friday 31st July 2026
We are meeting up for a “Fish ‘n Chips lunch” with Colin & Jim at the fish shop opposite Sainsbury’s in Keynsham. Recommended + OAP discount. Time to be advised.


“Pip’s Picnic”

Wednesday 19th August 2026
Everyone is welcome to attend, including Gay West and GMG members. You are encouraged to bring your own picnic. Please meet me at 1200 hours prompt near the main entrance of Lacock Visitor Centre. We are planning to have the picnic in the grounds behind Stables Cafe. It may be advisable to bring foldable chairs, and I will be bringing a few car blankets for the picnic.
Please note: In the event of wet weather, please meet me inside the Red Lion Pub, High Street, Lacock Wiltshire, SN15 2LQ.



Friends Ageing Better (FAB)

Whilst not part of GayWest, Friends Ageing Better is a community of older people who share what is happening in the city while building relationships with like-minded people who live locally. They hold meetings around Bristol and the following are LGBTQ+ orientated:
